Q345R is the yield strength of steel for 340MPa special plates for pressure vessels, it has good mechanical properties and process performance. Phosphorus, sulfur content slightly below the low alloy high strength steel Q345 (16Mn) steel, with the exception of tensile strength, elongation than Q345 (16Mn) steel increased, but also require the toughness. It is currently the most widely used, and the largest amount of special steel for pressure vessels.

Attention problems:

 One, must take into account the operating condition of the equipment (design pressure, design temperature, medium characteristics), material weldability, cold and hot processing properties, heat treatment and to the structure of the container.
 Second, in the premise of meeting the first, considering economic rationality:
  • Required plate thickness is less than 8mm, carbon steel and low alloy steel, carbon steel, should be used (multilayer containers).
  • Dtiffness or design-oriented occasion, you should try to use an ordinary carbon steel. In strength design of the occasion, should be based on usage restrictions, such as pressure, temperature, medium, followed by selection of Q235B, 20R (20G), Q345R (16MnR) plate. 
  • The required stainless steel thickness is greater than 12mm should be made with lined, composite, surfacing and other structures. 
  • Stainless steel should not design temperature of 500 degrees Celsius or less heat-resistant steels. 
  • Pearlite heat-resistant steel should not design temperature of 350 degrees Celsius or less heat-resistant steel. Pearlite heat-resistant steel or must be used in hydrogen use, should try to reduce, merge the varieties, specifications of steel.
 Third, thicker than 60mm Q345R steel, carbon concentration limit may be raised to 0.22%.
 Four, Q345R plate, add niobium, vanadium, titanium, should fill in the certificate of the quality of their content, these 3 elements sum to be less than 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.12%.
